SEO beats social media for delivering Web traffic, and the comparison isn’t even close.
In fact, Google alone drives FIVE TIMES more traffic to websites than ALL social media sites combined. Our lead article discusses that, and the second provides a way to assure you have great content that will attract search engines.

Businesses big and small have marched to social media’s stirring drumbeat for the past two years to drive more traffic to their websites. Nothing wrong with that, but social media is not the best source of traffic.
Besmirtnik rolls out some convincing data that show how Google buries all social media sites combined. Moreover, he cites a Hubspot study that shows search engine optimized (SEO) content is more effective at getting people to buy than both social media and pay-per-click advertising.
You won’t read many news accounts of this because social media is a lot more sexy topic to talk about than organic search. But for best results over time, business owners would be wise to invest in a solid content strategy to be found by search engines. Contact me if you would like to know more.
